What are some great New Zealand white wines?!

Question:

What are some great New Zealand white wines?

Answers:
I'm no expert but from an enthusiastic amateur's perspective three great sauvignon blancs are Oyster Bay, Wither Hills and Kim Crawford - all readily available and costing between $15-$20.

New Zealand is know for producing superior Sauvignon Blanc. One of the best is:

Kim Crawford 2006 Sauvignon Blanc
Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2006. Unfolds with flavors of passionfruit, gooseberry and subtle herbaceousness. The wine is mouthfilling with good texture and finishes well with cleansing acidity and great length. ($16.99)

I agree that Suav Blanc is what NZ is known for . My personal favorite is Oyster Bay (15-20) but there is another great one Matua Valley Paratei which is realy good but very hard to find (30)

Hands down - New Zealand is known for making great Sauvignon Blanc. In fact, out of all of the white wines made in that country, their Sauvignon Blanc is probably the best. However, there are a couple of really great examples of Riesling coming from New Zealand now and then on the red wine side of things are the Pinot Noir's.

look up this site, it may help you decide.......it will also tell u if there are any events near you where you can go and try the stuff!!

Most widely available is the Cloudy Bay Sauvignon blanc and Pinot Noir
