Can chocolate liqueurs be sold to under 18 year olds?!
Answers: I just bought some (I'm over 18) and just wondered, also there is no mention on the box about not giving them to children. They are 5% by volume.
Yes because chocolate liqueur is non alcoholic.
There isnt enough amount to do any damage.
yes you can buy them under 18
they dont contain enough alcohol to do any damage as there is less than a teaspoon in each chocolate
yeah i don't thin many children would want them they taste bad but I dont' think you have to be a certain age to buy them cause you can buy low dose beer without being 18, I think it has to contain a certain amount of alcohol to be sold behind a counter, like most cough medicines and things and mouth washes have alcohol and even vanilla extract but you don't have to be 18 for those, also babies gripe water sometimes contains alcohol too, but obviously you wouldn't want to feed a child liquor candy anyways. You would use your descretion like you do on anything you give a child.
I bought some in M&S the other day and was asked if I was over 18 and had to press yes into a pin machine. I am 48 and yet they still had to ask. I think it does depend on the volume of alcohol.
No
It is against the law to sell alcohol of any kind to children, and the name says it all (Chocolate Liqueurs)
Yes, but you have to be over 16. I used to work in Sainsbury's, you feel silly ID-ing people for liquer choccies!
I think I read on a sign yesterday that they can be sold to over 16's cause they don't have alot of alcohol in them
i worked at asda and was told 16 is the legal age to buy them
I bought some and was asked if I was over 18. I had to show I D as I am 22 but look much younger.
it doesnt matter if there is little or lots of alcohol you must be over 18 to buy it
No most shops will tell you or ask for ID if they are good retailers.
You must be 16 to buy liqueurs in a retail establishment.
