Answers:
As far as I know you can go to the vineyards and they give guided tours and have tasting, I'm not sure of the times, but I can look into it and try and get back to you on this, I will ask my husband when he returns from work.

There are seven wineries in Malta and some excellent wines made there although the majority of the 'maltese' wines you find there are made from imported Italian juice, so you should check the label.

But wineries such as Meridiana, Marsovin and Delicata grow international varieties on the islands and make super wines from them. There are also two indigenous (white Girgentina and red Gellewza) varietal wines made by Delicata Winery that are worth looking out for.

However, as I wrote here - http://www.winelabels.org/artmal06.htm... - "Despite the number of visitors to the islands, the wineries do not seem overly interested in wine tourism, casual visitors are not accepted and the only way to visit a winery is to make an appointment."

I highly recommend Marsovin wines -- my tasting notes on them are on the link given above.

I suggest you contact the wineries you are interested in visiting via their websites.

Have a great time, I am sure you will. I was last there in October and can't wait to go back.
