Easy Tom Collins...8 count (1 jigger or 1.5 ounces) gin, 3 count of sour mix and top with a splash of soda water. Can use tom collins mix in place of sour if you have it on hand.
Equally can use fresh lemon juice with a tsp of semi fine sugar as well.
Bloody Mary...8 count vodka, 3 count v-8 juice with a dash of worstershire sauce and tabasco sauce and a squeeze of lemon.
I use v-8 juice..a little Mcilhennys hot sauce..lots of pepper
a fresh whole stalk of celery...a few large olives..and lots of good Vodka
I don't really drink Tom Collins much, but the other recipe answers that you received sound pretty good! One note also... the person who said "8-count" of gin should have specified that that's pretty fast counting. You don't want your whole glass filled with Gin. Not tasty.
At any rate, I've created a Bloody Mary recipe that seems to go over really well at the bar in which I work...
The Grande Bloody Mary-
In a pint glass full of ice-
2 oz vodka (I usually use Absolut because it's a decent vodka, but not too pricey)
1 oz green olive juice
Squeeze 1/4 slice of lime and drop in
Squeeze 1/4 slice of lemon and drop in
1 oz worcestershire sauce
pinch of celery salt
dash of salt and pepper
3-4 drops of A*s Kickin' Wasabe Horseradish Hot Sauce (Great American Spice Co. makes it)
Fill with Tomato Juice
mix well and top with 2 olives and 1/2 celery stalk (I don't put celery in, but a lot of people like it.)
Note about the Horseradish sauce- Depending on how spicy you like your bloody mary's - this recipe is medium temp. This stuff packs a punch in small amounts, but it tastes far better than standard horseradish or tobasco sauce ANY DAY!
