I like Maker's Mark & Basil Hayden. I prefer Bourbon Whiskey to Scotch myself.

The best way to drink whiskey is with a drop of pure spring water. The best Whiskeys are the single malts and then it is a matter of taste as to which you choose. A good tip is to read the description on the label however don't be fooled into thinking the more expensive the better. Start of with some of the blended Malts first. there are also some very good blended whiskeys on the market as well a couple that come to mind being Grants Sherry Cask and Morrisons Best.

Recent winners of whisk(e)y of the year awards for various publications have been Bowmore 18, Highland Park 18, Ardbeg 10, Sazerac 18, Redbreast 15 and Brora 30.

As for the prices quoted, you can buy Dalmore 62 was sold a couple of years ago for $55,000. There's still some available today.

And there are some Irish whiskeys that sell for $3,000, like the Midleton 20th Anniversary. Knappogue Castle is over $1,000.

My list would be

1. Black Bowmore
2. Cadenhead Bow Street
3. Redbreast 15
4. Sazerac Rye 18
5. Ardbeg Kildalton
7. Bushmills 1975 Millennium
8. Highland Park 18
9. George T. Stagg
10. Midleton 25
