How often should I clean the lines on my kegerator?!

Question:

How often should I clean the lines on my kegerator?

I just bought a kegerator from a friend and the beer is foamy so I'm assuming it's because the lines are dirty. How often should I clean the lines? Also, can anybody suggest a good method for cleaning them? I looked online and found kits that costed $50, so is there a cheaper way to clean lines than buying a kit?

Answers:
There's a product specifically for this called "BLC" (Beer Line Cleaner).

They also have your $50 kits, but this stuff is the way to start. If you you it and the line brush (the skinny little 3/8" x 44"), you'll be off to a good start.

Where I used to work, the beer company would come in every two weeks to clean the lines. I have no clue what they did though, I was busy with other stuff.

Are you sure it's foamy from the lines, or just not pouring right? I'd give the kit a try and see if it makes a difference.

i dont know

depends upon how much you use it check to make sure you have the presuure set right and make surte you are pouring it right also make sure somebody didnt shake up the keg I only clean my lines like 2 times a year cuz they dont get used all the time like a bar does

beer lines in bars are cleaned every two weeks, and not all beer uses the same pressure bud is around 12psi. coors is around 18psi. check to see what the setting is for your brand and adjust your pressure accordingly

You should drink enough beer that the lines never get dirty.
