In the movies or on TV, why don't the bartenders ever try to break up fights or at least call for help?!
Did you see that movie called "They Nest"? Remember when that guy not only never got back at those guys in that small town of Maine or ever made peace with them, but they beat him up in a bar, took him out, and that stupid bartender didn't do a damn thing to help out that guy? I thought that crap was just wrong.
Answers: Seeing the bartender or barmaid not a do a damn thing when something like that happens makes me so mad.

They aren't paid enough to get hurt. I'm 5'2" and was a bartender. If someone got belligerent, the manager would take them aside and try to calm him/her down, or make them leave.
well where i live thy cant do any thing to stop it and most bar owners don't like them calling the cops
I haven't watched that show before, however i was a waitress in my old life.I also bar tended on occasion. The answer is they don't want to get hurt either. They're usually regulars that will be sure to pay you back if you rat they out.I was lucky in this regard as an attractive female i got away with calling for help.I could claim "I just didn't want ANYBODY to get hurt".But most bartenders are male. Also many owners don't want you to call the cops,I think it has something to do with their license.
Less dramatic/funny/exciting if they did.
They have two very important items to protect .... the liquor and the money !!!!!!!!!!!!!
