Hmmm...well you could always get a good vodka and some chocolate martini mix and go that way.
Peppermint Schnapps is always good, then you can order hot chocolate and just pour it in the drink...yum!

By only taking one container, you need to have a liquor that you are not going to get tired of over the course of the night. I would stick to a clear liquor like vodka. Either a flavored martini or cran/orange juice is never a bad way to go if you definately want to take something mixed. If not, you can just take the liquor straight and use the mixers at the party. While it will still be a few dollars, you will have the variety of different drinks.

mix whatever you like to drink keep the thermos in the refrigerator until you are ready to leave don't add ice it will water your drink down. when you get to the party all you'll need is a cup of ice.

Cash bars are such a drag...

...But since you're already planning on going the classy route, you might as well bring little mini bottles in your purse.
Your local liquor store has MANY different kinds, so you can mix it up... Just slip them to each other and pour into whatever soda/coffee you're drinking.

But since you're mixing booze remember:
Beer BEFORE liquor, never sicker
Liquor BEFORE beer, in the clear

Cheers!
