Recommended drinks?!

Question: I'm turning legal drinking age soon, and would like to take a visit to the liquor store. Problem is, I've never really drank much before, so I wouldn't know what type of drink to try. What sort of drinks/brands to you like? Any I should avoid?
I'd like to try something that is fruity...and suggestions?

I would start with a fruit flavored vodka, Absolute makes a nice selection. Absolute citron is wonderful. You can make it with a sugared lemon drop in the Citron and have a lemon drop.
XXX Pink Fusion makes a wonderful fruity drink as well its a fun drink because its pink.....

Just a couple of suggestions and Happy Birthday

Personally - I enjoy beers like Heineken and Corona and Foster's.

I also enjoy Strongbow Cider and Brother's Cider.

And Smirnoff Ice is quite good. Or Vodka Blue. Or WKD.

I know a few people who enjoy Coconut rum mixed with cranberry juice. Not my favorite - but I'll drink it.

you should buy some grape vodka (three olives...expensive, smirnoff...moderate, burnetts...cheap) and some not from concentrate lemonade. mix one part vodka to two parts lemonade. that'll set you free.

It's your day, treat yourself. Buy a bottle of gray goose vodka with roses mix (of your fav flavor) and mix it up at home. Good, sweet and you'll enjoy a home made martini. Get used to it.

First time drinker I wouldn't try something that is harsh. try something with a very low alcohol content. If you look on a bottle they are required to disclose how much is in there. I think the wines and beer may be excluded from this. you will see the word proof. the higher the number the more alcohol in it. I suggest to get the lowest number possible.

I do drink and I like kahlua with half and half(kahlua and cream)

Drink responcibly get a designated driver. You are young enough to have friends that can't drink bring them along for some fun. Pay for all their sodas or coffees whatever the case may be because they are saving your life. Good luck.

Alize not sure about t his spellling, prounounced AL IZ ZAY, hypnotic

amaretto sours.. those are great!!!! and good for starters u dont want to drink too much and have a hangover.

well, i dont like drinks with more than 20% alcohol so i like drinking red and white wines,

i recommend u 2 drink chardonnays, pinot noirs and white zinfandels

im not a legal drinking age haha

you are going to just have try out tons of different stuff when you first start drinking to learn what you like best. some of the very basics when you are starting out usually consist of one liquor and a juice mixer if you wanna play it safe... if you like fruity i suggest

mai tai
sea breeze
malibu pineapple
midori sour
appletini
flavored margaritas

also try mixing flavored vodkas with gatorade flavors and my personal favorite, get a slushee from QT and put a bunch of vodka in it... those are fun!

fun fruity shots:
grape kamikaze
pink pus-sy
scooby snack

that should be enough to get you started!

I would suggest getting a bottle of wine. There should be someone knowledgable at any good store that can help you find something inexpensive and good that is on the fruity side.

As for spirits and liquers, there are lots of options. Liquesrs come in just about every flavor you can think of, but some can be quite intense in flavor.

If you want to be very adventurous and you can handle stronger drinks, pick up a bottle of Applejack or Calvados. Calvados is Norman apple brandy, and Applejack is a similar American drink made from apples and neutral grains. I enjoy it straight, but find it to be even better when mixed with a dash of Angostura bitters and a splash of sweet vermouth.
