Drank 6 Guiness and didn't get drunk....Why?
So I'm not a huge drinker but I do like my beer. Yestereday, I had two wheat beers that were 5.75% alcohol content and I felt somewhat buzzed. I then proceeded to take a nap for an hour. About an hour after my nap I went to a bar and consumed six Guiness without being very intoxicated. I only weigh 150lbs and I have drank this much and sometimes more on different ocassions and I felt more intoxicated then I did yesterday. I know my tollerance did not go up or anything so I'm left a bit dumb founded.Anyone know the reason for this?

I find that my tolerance varies significantly from one day to the next. If I'm tired or under significant stress, I feel drunk much quicker. If I've eaten, especially greasy foods - it takes way more for me to feel drunk.
So I guess I don't have a specific answer to your question, but I think it's a curious phenomenon.
Your a boozer...Your blood is made of it.
Your liver is getting to its breaking point. keep drinking smarty pants.
Your tolerance has increased and you will need to drink more bottles to achieve a drunk status.
the beer you drank was alcohol free.
your metabolism, everything you ate before, after and during the drinking as well as how hydrated you were. There are a lot of factors involved but I would not bank on being able to drink that much next time...you could get yourself in a bad situation.
drink responsibly.
Even though Guinness is so full bodied and good it actually has less alcohol than a lot of beers- it's a misconception that they are higher in alcohol. They also take longer to drink because they're savored as opposed to guzzled. Now don't get me wrong, 6 is a lot of beers regardless! You do not have to FEEL intoxicated to BE intoxicated. Sometimes it just hits you and other times it doesn't. Depends on what you ate, how much you ate, your mood, etc.
If you drank on a full stomach over a few hours you might not feel the effects. If you are interested in feeling a little buzzed, go for something a little stronger that you can drink more easily thank beer.
I love beer, but i drink it really slow and it fills me up faster than i start feeling tipsy.
A beer like guiness is very thick and this keep the alcohol from rushing into your blood. I have had three guiness before and barely felt anything. Guiness is very natural and still contails a lot of the minearls that refined beers like lagers, pilsners, and ales don't have. Guiness is more like eating a beer than drinking it.
