How do i open Charmat Wines?
my sister is having a lot of trouble opening her bottle of charmat wine...
Answers:
Charmat is not a type of wine or a brand.
It's a 'bulk process' by which they inject CO2 or carbonation into cheap wine to make sparkling wine like champagne.
Open it like you'd open any Champagne bottle.
Put a dishtowel or cloth napkin on top, take off the wire housing, hold the plastic cork and turn the bottle to twist off.

Charmat is a way of making sparkling wine so just open the bottle the way you would any other type of sparkling wine. By the way, it is not as scary as you may think it is. If you are constantly holding that cork it is not going to go flying off and hit someone in the eye. Like opening any bottle of wine, it just takes practice.
