I really want a Diet A & W Root Beer out of the fridge and my 8-year-old won't go get it, what should I do?????

I would say something about how much free time you have to ask that question...but I have an equal amount of my time to waste answering it, so I guess I can't really talk.
As I see it, you have three options. Peel the chair out of your booty and walk in there and get it, but that really seems like a lot of work.
Second, beat the child into submission until she realizes who is really boss (just kidding, no one call CPS).
Third, and this is my favorite, make your significant other do it. If you don't have a significant other, get off the computer, call a babysitter, and go out and find one so this horrific situation never has to rear its ugly head again.

this is a tough one, because i suffer from laziness.. what i would do is start crying.. tears always make others feel bad, your 8 year old, will be sad ( kids have the conscience thing still) and she will feel so bad, that she will get it for you!!!!!!!
