I'm looking for a good yet semi sweet wine. Does any one have any ideas?!

Question: If you want sweet wine you aim drinking the white wines:

Riesling would be a decent financial option.

If you want the more expensive stuff try Sauternes.

The German sweet wines (very good also) are usually tagged with the word "lieblich", meaning lovely, so kind of sweet ...

Sauvignon, Bordeaux, Pinot and Chardonnay are dry wines that aren't sweet, so don't bother if you want something sweet.

Merlot

Find yourself a good Alsatian or New Zealand Riesling (American Rieslings are too sweet). I like Villa Maria from New Zealand.

If you like reds then the new Beaujolais Nouveau would be appropriate. Try the Debouf

White Zinfandel is usually a good choice.
Couldn't tell you what brand, but all I've ever tried are good.

Although not very sweet, my staple wine is House Wine by the Magnificent Wine Company in Eastern Washington. It is a mix of grapes and turns out to be a fairly light all purpose red wine.

My friends and I love Real Sangria and Arbor Mist Sangria White Zinfandel.

I also like Yellow Tail Chardonnay, especially with sharp cheese.

I suggest Rays Station 2001 Merlot. Not overly sweet.... just right if you ask me!! If you aren't into merlot go with a white Zinfandel.

If you like red wine go with Relax Cool Red (it is German) or if you like white try Relax Riesling. Good Luck!!

Fetzer Reisling and/or Gerwurtzraminer are nice, inexpensive whites.

Muscat, lightly chilled, is my choice for a sweeter wine. Get ice wine if you want really sweet (serve it in cordial glasses--too sweet for a full glass of wine). Riesling, Chablis, or white Zinfandel if you want it just a little sweet.
