Alcohol (Beer) Quantites?!

Question:

Alcohol (Beer) Quantites?

So why do companies sell beer in can/stubbies that have an standard drinks quantity of anywhere between 1.2 - 1.4. Why don't they just sell each can/stubbie in a bottle that holds only 1 standard drink? It makes sense to do so...

Answers:
It is down sizing.
When I was a boy, my uncle and dad shared a flagon(2.25l) of beer on a Sunday morning.
Later on it was a couple of bottles of 750ml.each.
Then it became cans.
The big cans we have here are about two.

No it doesn't make sense to have a one serving can. Think of the mountain of waste. They need to be bigger..
