What is a good red wine to go with a wild venison roast in the $15 range?!

Question: I was thinking an Australian Shiraz. Any hunters or wild game consumers out there who can help me out on this?

There's a sparkling shiraz called Vixen, I think it may be a dollar or two more than your price range, though I think it will pair nicely with venison.

You'll know it by the gold fox on the label.

Penfolds makes several wines that would be right up your alley. I would recommend any of them.

Yellowtail Shiraz or Shirz/Cab.

I would recommend a good Syrah/Shiraz or a Chambourcin.
