How long do red wine, white wine and sake go bad after you open them?!

Question:

How long do red wine, white wine and sake go bad after you open them?

Answers:
Regular table wines should be consumed within a couple days. Recork it and refrigerat it and it will hold better, but still will start to fade and become quite different within a few days. You can buy devices that help prevent air getting to the wine (which degrades it) such as a vacuum pump to pump out the air or a bottle of inert gas which is injected into the bottle and the recorked. Sake, like most wine, is best fresh and only gets worse with time.

Fortified wines, like sherry, madeira and port, last a bit longer and can certainly keep a week or so. Beyond that they won't go bad per se but they will not be as good and will slowly fade and oxidize.

Keep the open bottles as air tight as you can and it should be ok for a week or so.

Depends on the brand, style, where you store it, etc.

Some will last a long time, but others go bad right away. Sake is horrible to begin with, but a good Sake will last a long time in the refrigerator. I'm not sure about wine.

Depends.Refrigerating prolongs life.

I've kept red wine out of the fridge for a little over a week.

White wine has sometimes lasted me a month (in the fridge).

Not sure about sake, but I reckon it would be about the same.

According to food & drink safety standards it's three days.(out of the fridge). If you use a wine saver pump you should be good for about a week before it goes sour. Refridgerated wines last much longer. It also depends on the quality of the wine.

not long enough so drink them quickly
