For those of you who used to drink heavily?!
im all for drinking 2 or 3 beers to loosen up a little, but not to get drunk by the way.
Answers: when did you loose youre interest to get wasted? i mean at some point you inevitably loose your interest in acting like a moron in front of people(like you used to in college), but for many this happens at a different age...at what age did this happen and for what reason? hangovers, health issues, change in perspective, responsibilities, etc.....?

Well I'm a bit of a drinker myself... used to be pretty heavy, ever since age 15 or so...
Nowadays I only drink beer, occasionaly some wine. NO MORE LIQUOR. (I'm 28 now)
I'd say I stopped drinking hard stuff when I was about 23-24 or so (some occasions I slipped up, but mostly stopped). My body just couldnt handle it anymore... hangovers became wicked and my stomach started rejecting it.
I still drink beer though..maybe 3-4 nights a week... 4 beers at a time (sometimes more, but rarely). And even then.. I make sure to keep myself hydrated with water.
I think it's different for everyone, but I wore myself out young I think which ended up being a good thing actually... I feel bad for people that are older and still drink like fish.
Alcohol in moderation is healthy, but go overboard and its terrible. I advise everyone to be smart about their drinking habits.
Health reasons.
sometimes you grow up and sometimes you don't
I used to be in a fraternity and we used to drink everyday, and party every weekend. then after that I used to throw parties with at least $200 of top shelf alcohol. then one day after my 25th bday year, i just never had the urge to have to get more than one or two drinks at a restaurant. nowadays 4 years later I rarely have any alcohol unless its new years or a bday party of the sort.
it just got old. most kids drink alcohol to get the feeling and to have an excuse to F around. Now I have a drink because it goes with my dinner, ie. wine or a margarita at Chevy's
At about 40. But after 50 I had a tumor removed. Couldn't stand beer, even the smell made me sick. Now I drink beer very rarely. I do like a good Bloody Mary or Margarita every now and then.
i am 17 now and i kinda lost intersest in drinking like couple months ago. before when i was like 15 years old i was going out with my friends and drinking just about everyday. i usually had a 40oz or 2 of colt 45(beer %10 alcohol). i thought it use to be "cool" to drink but then i figured out it was more fun just watching drunk people instead of people watching me make a fool of myself.
I went through a stage when I was like 18 and really stressed. I drank every day 10 beers a day and smoked cigarettes a pack a day and partyed all weekend. But then i stopped. I now occasionaly have a few beers or margarita but I stopped smoking and only drink once in a while now. I grew out of it.
I wised up. It is about knowing how to arrive to the finish line and not about arriving the fastest.
I still drink a good bit, but gave up the wild partying and acting foolish.
I think that alcohol is tied so closely to acting foolish for many that they give them up together. (I am pretty calm when I get drunk, and tend to staty out of trouble. Most of the really foolish things I have done have been when I was sober.)
Hard to say when the foolish college parties got old. After a few years, I just started to be bored at them, and preferred meeting strangers at the local bar and discussing world politics, literature, art, beer, sports, etc. (I used to spend time in some rather unique bars with a lot of grad students for those that are wondering.)
