What is the best single malt wiskey to give to your boss? Thats all he drinks..?!

Question: buying scotch for someone as a gift is difficult. It's like buying them a cigar - everyone has their own taste that usually is very specific. You can by a very nice Dalwhinnie - (a gift that would be coveted by some) but if he likes Caol Isla and Lagavulin (smokier, darker) then he's not going to even go for the sweeter dalwhinnie. Pick his brain, go out and buy him a drink after work, talk to his secretary, wife etc. If you know what other kind of alcohol (beer) he drinks - then you can draw conclusions to the kind of Scotch he likes.

but don't just by him a Glenlivet - do some research first. If it's not the flavor profile that he's used to drinking, then it's going to go to waste.

GLENLIVET

find out which brand he prefers, by paying attention, what he orders at a bar, or what he keeps at the office. there are big differences in the taste profiles of single malts, specific to the regions they are from. if he likes highland, or speyside single malts, he wont be happy with a peaty laphroig.
