Mass Media. Wine is looked at as more cultured, were beer is just plan looked down upon. Educated people such as you or I know the truth and it is up to us to be "beer advocates" and spread the word.

orf1943:

Incorrect, beer contains vitamins and minerals. Forward thinking doctors look to an old wives tail recipe for pregnant women who have an iron deficiency... Guinness. Just for one example. Lets not get into the fact that the wheat, barley are both high in fiber.

Wine has antioxidants in it to help smooth out the blood and make it flow easier. Beer doesn't have really any nutrients in it except for a lot of calories!!

I'm a beer drinker, not a wine drinker. Wine drinking would be unhealthy for me. I have acid reflux. Beer is bad enough, but wine is worse, high acid content. I don't believe wine is any better for you than beer, so don't over generalize people. If you want to believe beer is better, than believe it. You don't need someone else to agree with you.

I am a beer drinker. Let me correct you. Beer contains water, malt, hops, and yeast.

Wine is made from grapes. Grapes have been known for years to be high in antioxidants.

As further clarification, neither wine nor beer has vitamins or nutrients. I love the taste of beer, but I still like to lay back, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine.

red wine has antioxidants, and it is said that it is good for the heart (in moderation of course)

ok, first off i live in the town that provides 70% of the hops for the country, and 20% for the world. I Manage a bottle shop where we ONLY sell beer. Where i live also had the oldest brewpub in the united states where the owner/brewmaster got into trouble for putting the nutrition facts on his beers. the FDA didn't want people to know that beer was nutritional or for them to think that it was a source of food.

here is a website that tells you all the information you will need to know about beer!
