How can you make yourself like beer?!

Question: I used to drink Miller Lite. I loved it, it went down like water. A nice frosty brew in the summer was the best! I got the flu last year and ever since then I can't drink beer. The taste is GROSS to me! But I remember enjoying it, at one time, lol. Does this make sense? I used to love going out w/ my friends, having a beer or 2, but now I can barely stand the smell.

I have heard that sometimes a severe cold can directly affect your sense of smell, although rare, which is linked to your sense of taste.

Has this occurred with other drinks? foods? if so talk to your doctor about it.

i hear that u just drink it a lot

I have never liked the taste of beer and can't make myself drink it. So you may never get the taste of beer back. And then again one day it may taste good to you.
Just give yourself time and your taste for beer may return.

Probably better if you don't drink. But really, it's an acquired taste - the more you try it, the more you acclimate to the flavor.

People are allowed to change what they like, dislike. Maybe try a different beverage.

maybe this is a good thing?

If it taste disgusting to you, your never gonna learn to like. Once your taste buds give signal to your brain that you dont like this, its not changing. I have the problem of tons of things I hate but I eat and drink because my body requires it. But why would you complain about that, you can do so much better without beer.

how about drinking a good beer, like a nice lager or brown beer.. its a compleatly different thing than the watered down miller lite. there are about a million different kinds of beer, and each one tastes different. there are ciders and lagers and ales... so many to choose from! give it another chance, with some really tasty brews, and im sure youll find one palatable.

The BEST way to drink beer, is with some beer salt. Buy a little bottle of beer salt, put some on your tounge, and take a drink of beer (before you swallow the salt). It's AWESOME!

Try drinking some different styles of beer. It's not necessarily a bad thing that you don't like Miller anymore. There are infinitely better beers out there. Don't just try the other yellow fizzy American lagers, but maybe try something a little hoppier, like a nice IPA or something. Don't give up on beer, just try some different ones. Remember experimentation and variety are the spice of life...

Try drinking Natural Light. It is very watered-down, so there isn't much "beery" taste.

Or, you can try adding stuff to your beer, like lime, or beer salt (special lemon/lime flavored salt that you sprinkle).
