Question about burgundy wine.?!

Question:

Question about burgundy wine.?

do you have to refigerate gurgundy wine after it has been opened?

Answers:
All wines have to be refridgerated after opening and finished within 1 or 2 days for it to be at its best. Red wines should be served at 17 to 20 degrees Celsius. There is a very common misconception aboput red wine and room temperature. Room temperature is a room in Europe in the old days with no central heating and NOT room temperature in Thailand, for example which is 28 degrees Celsius with no air con.

if you mean red wine no you dont as it is best when consumed at room temperature, white preferably chilled.

I'm presuming we're in red Burgundies. If white, then refrigerate, no question, though it's not necessary.

It depends when you're going to drink the rest of it and how old it is. Generally, young burgundies that are at a good age to be drunk (not one marked Grand Cru or Premier Cru) can be served on the col side...60 degrees or even 57 or so. So, for the sake of taste, you might prefer it to have been refrigerated and then taken out a good 30 minutes ahead, for example.

In terms of necessity, though, you don't need to refrigerate it to conserve it. You do need to close the bottle. If you use a vacuum sealing device, it will last several days longer than just re-corking. Some people don't drink much wine and put bottles in the refrigerator hoping they will stay good longer. It's a risk. You're better off finishing the bottle the next day.

Most restaurants serve burgundy chilled. Personal opinion: the sweetness of the grape really tastes nicer chilled.

it is best if you do if you have a refrigerator with a meter maintain the temp from 65 t o75 that's a great temp but never drink a wine bottle that was open for more than 3 days it looses its body and taste and if you do make sure the bottle stays at that new temp at all times after it was open

All wine ought to be refrigerated after opening, to slow down the oxidation process. Most wine should be drunk up within a few days of opening.
