Alcoholism is a serious condition that ruins lives and kills people.
Those that are taking steps to help themselves to recover should not have the piss taken out of them.
AA is for people who want to start living a sober life...usually because they've hit rock bottom...lost their family, home, job, etc.
Some people feel that stopping drinking helps them to become a winner.
Of course, when I used to tend bar, there was the group who used to meet there to go to their meetings--just so they wouldn't be fired from their jobs........They'd also be back in after the meeting!!
