I do not drink alcohol but my friends are trying to get me to go out drinking with them, why should i?!

Question: It's okay to go out with your friends, you don't have to drink to have fun. You shouldn't go out just to be the designated driver, but you should offer a ride if you know someone can't drive.

Your real friends won't pressure you into doing something you don't want to.

Because you can be the designated driver and make sure everyone gets home safely.

You could go and just order a tonic water, or coke. Be the designated driver.

Hmmm..... Do they want you to be the driver?? If you don't like to drink, don't let others influence you.... You'll most likely regret it.

dont go, trust me just dont go

you can still be with them - it takes real character to socialize and not have a drink next to you. Give it a try. You could drink coke if you liked.

You have to make up your own mind. I am almost 30 and have never had an alcoholic beverage...it never appealed to me and I still have fun without it. It's up to you. Don't let them pressure you into it and you doing something stupid.

You can go out with them with out drinking & still have fun. I do it all the time.

Just because you go out with your friends doesn't necessarily mean you have to drink to have a good time. One of my mates comes out every week and doesn't drink alcohol, and I don't get completely drunk either, but we still manage to have a good time AND remember it. Don't let your friends pressure you into something you don't want to do though.

definitely go...just because you dont drink doesnt mean you wont have fun. go to a karaoke bar or something....besides...sounds like your friends may need a designated driver.

I don't like how everyone is telling you to be the designated driver. Don't let them pressure you into being the DD just because you don't drink! I admit it works out nicely for them, but it would suck if they took advantage of you like that every time you went out with them-- unless you really like driving people around.

Anyway. Like others said, you can still go out with your friends and have fun with them while they drink, even if you're not drinking. Just be prepared to put up with them acting really stupid around you, while you're completely sober, and not as amused with everything as they will be.

However, don't let them drag you out and force you to drink. You don't want to even bother going if that's what they're planning on doing, because you will feel uncomfortable all night.

Good luck!

I don't drink either, really, and I often feel the same conflict that you're feeling. But, it's nice to be out with your friends, and when the alternative is sitting at home, then why not? You don't have to drink, and as long as you're with them at the bar, I doubt they'll give you grief about not drinking. They really just want to be with you. Have fun!
