What Exactly Are The Laws Regarding Minors Drinking Alcohol?!

Question: I know in most states in the US the age to purchase alcohol is 21. I wanted to know if minors simply cannot purchase alcohol or they cannot consume it at all. Let's say you're at a restaurant and your dad buys you a beer and you're under the drinking age. Is that illegal?

Some of the laws are so confusing and I just wanted to set it straight for myself.

If you are under the age of 21 it is illegal for you to have to or to consume alcohol. In some states if you are at home and your parents are with you and ok it, it is legal to drink. But they can not give it to your friends. If you were at a restaurant your parents could not buy you a beer.

You cannot not purchase or consume under the age of 21. If someone buys you a beer whether it be your dad or not, this is considered contributing to a minor. It is all illegal until you turn 21.

A minor can not buy, posses or consume alcohol.

If you are under the legal age you cannot consume alcohol no matter who buys it for you.

laws vary by state. where i live it is legal only if your parents purchase it and give it to you in their home.

Its illegal for your dad to buy and for you to drink it.
