How to brew beer?!
Also, check out the website of Brew Your Own (magazine). They have articles that you will appreciate later on and a list of advertisers' websites. That will make it easier to compare prices when you are buying enough to make it worthwhile.
It's a fun hobby.
Answers: I started with a Brewers' Best kit and Papazian's New Complete Joy of Homebrewing. Don't futter about with the little kits like Mr Beer; get something you can continue to use. Find your nearest hombrew shop and tell the proprietor that you are just starting out. He will bend over backwards to be of help because, if you are successful, you will be back for more supplies. You will probably start out with an ale; it's easier than a lager.

That is just too vague a question, and the answer would be way to long for here...
If you are seriously interested in learning to brew, I would recommend you check out http://www.howtobrew.com and http://www.homebrewtalk.com for more information, or find a copy of Charlie Papazian's 'The Complete Joy of Homebrewing'.
Then go find a local homebrew shop and talk to the guys there. If you don't have a local homebrew shop, check out http://www.midwestsupplies.com or http://www.northernbrewer.com for information on the equipment needed.
Don't waste your money on the expensive kits just yet. Go to MrBeer.com and read their stuff. Order the premium beer kit. It takes minimum of 2 weeks to make alcohol. This is a beginners kit but it makes some good and strong beer.
