I don't drink a lot, don't go to bars but when i am upset i am drawn to the bottle. am i an alcoholic?!
Answers: Well technically, if you went to an alcohol class they would say you are. You can still be an alcoholic even if you don't drink every day.. only drinking on the weekends is an alcoholic (by alcohol class standards). I think if you are worried or conserned then maybe you should mellow out on drinking. However, I can certainly understand when some one makes you mad or upsets you how good a frosty beer tases. :)
it's just your "get away" thing. you should switch to something else though, because you may always find yourself turning to it, creating the addiction..
so you can drink sometimes - to take the edge off - but in moderation. so you don't turn into an alcoholic :)
yes
Next time, turn on an aerobics video, or go for a run, or get on the stationary bike, instead of drinking. Throw the alcohol out of your house. It will ruin your life.
You'll become addicted within 2 weeks, and it'll make you healthier.
Hell no you aren't there is no such thing as an alcoholic. Only people that abuse alcohol for one reason or another.
you're on track to becoming one. just try not to get deeper into it so that it becomes your "get away" for everything thats bothering you. then it becomes a crutch and thats when the alcoholism starts.
It depends on how many times a day you get up set.Drinking is not the answer. You are doing the right thing now talking about it.Good luck hon .I was married to a drinker for 11 years. It was a bad time for me. Thank god its over.
if you keep it up, you might be soon. scarier than a social drinker, me thinks..
Mabye a drunk - seek help - booze wears off - and the problems don't.
Do you go to meetings?
If not, then you're not an alcoholic, just a drunk.
Well, I think that anyone who uses alcohol to relief pain has an issue. But that is something that you should ask yourself and answer with the honesty in your heart, if it worries you, then you should probably do something to change it! Good luck!

No, but if this pattern continues, it could lead to alcoholism. Alcoholism is where someone is dependant on alcohol to where they always need a drink.
I wouldn't say full blown alcoholic but tendency's are their so nows the time that you have recognized it and acknowledge hey might be a problem to stop it. and reach for something else or do something else when you upset or down.
