What's the best bottle of red wine under $10?
Answers:
if you are actually looking and live anywhere near a traders joes you will find the mother load of good wines under 10 bucks. I would suggest any of the Chilean red wines they have. As the other poster noted the Argentinians wines are great too! Awesome reds from both countries. Also if you go the folks at TJs will help you pick a great wine.

HEy why pay so much for some wine, just go get you some MD20/20 and enjoy
Wine is all about taste . If you like it dry or sweet . You have to try a few before you find one you like . there is a lot under $10 in you grocery store . Best bet is to find one that has food tasting on a daily basis (the bigger HEB and Kroger's ) and talk to the chef's there on what goes with what . As to a good red go with something from California I have found they are very good . I won't give a brand because there are to many different taste and what I like my wife doesn't . Hope I helped more than confused .
Avia Pinot Noir.
The Avia wines, from the Primorske region of what used to be Yugoslavia (I guess it's Montenegro now?) are consistent, and among the cheapest in the store. Our Krogers sell them for 3.99 per bottle, 6.99 for 1.5 liter. Their other varietals are also acceptable.
The Pinot is a personal preference for a table wine. Comparing it to good California Pinot is unfair; Avia is astringent and oaky and the fruit palette is thin, mostly blackberry. But compared to other comparably priced offerings, as a red table wine, it's satisfying.
Look for Lindemann's Bin 99 Pinot Noir. or Beringer's Reserve Pinot Noir. Nothing else will compare.
i loooove yellow tail shiraz. you can get any of the yellow tail wines at gas stations, and they are the best "cheap wines", because they don't taste cheap. at least i don't think so.
