How old does one have to be to drink beer in the U.S.?
I got invited to a drinking party but im not sure if i can drink beer. I heard that its illegal to drink beer under age of 21, but a friend of mine told me its illegal to sell beer to people under 21 and its legal for people under 21 to drink. is it true? i really hope it is so i dont have to stick with my orange juice anymore.

you have to at least be 21 yrs old to drink alcohol, and you have to be at least 21 yrs old to buy alcohol...if you are younger and do either one or both then it is illegal...sorry i guess you have to stick to your orange, but if you like mixed drinks then why not add grapefruit juice to your orange juice?! just a suggestion, it is actually really good!

Different states different laws
21 to consume or possess alcohol. Any younger you are looking at some stiff fines and loss of driving rights.

You must be 21 to purchase beer. You have to be 21 to drink beer unless a parent gives you a small, "reasonable" quantity and is with you while you drink it. However, that little nugget varies by state.

The drinking age all over the U.S. is 21.... but if you go to a party, you MAY be able to drink without fear of prosecution... but that does not mean it's a good idea.... I myself started drinking at 15... but I did it with responsible people... very seldomly... and kept my wits about me... most of the time.

The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 required all states to raise their minimum purchase and public possession of alcohol age to 21. States that did not comply faced a reduction in highway funds under the Federal Highway Aid Act....pretty much every State complied, but some do have exceptions. Best case senario take your parents to the party or just stick with OJ.

It's 21 in all states. You can't buy it and your not suppose to be drinking it.
