How many ml or what size bottle do people mean when they say "a 5th".?!

Question: I work in a grocery store, and I have had a couple of people ask for "a 5th" of vodka, SoCo, etc... But those people all meant different things when I took them to the shelf. What size is a 5th? And what is it a 5th of?

A 5th is equal to 750mL and got the nickname cause it is 1/5 of a gallon since we as Americans tend not to use the metric system.
