Wine advice?!

Question: I'm a little picky about wines. Well, actually I'll be more honest & say that I really don't know much about them at all. I like the sweeter wines such as blackberry merlots & dessert wines, but I want to broaden my tastes. I'm currently on a medication (INH) that won't allow me to imbibe any alcohol, so I'm planning on having a nice bottle of wine to celebrate not having to choke down that horrid medication when I'm finally finished taking it in a few months.

Any suggestions? I've got a bottle of wine at home that is a rose wine (Anime) that I picked up because it is a gorgeous pink color. I read reviews of other rose wines & found that rose wine isn't really popular. What type of wine do you think would taste good? I do like a wine with character & I also like a nice woodsy flavor in it. (In other words, I like to be able to taste something in the wine other than alcohol.)

I'm also open to suggestions along similar themes of wine type drinks if you have any.

Rose has actually been gaining popularity in its drier form, but if you like sweet you may like the rose you have. Who cares what is popular - drink what you like. (Don't tell anyone, but I don't care for a lot of French wines).

I don't really like it, but there are a lot of people that drink lambrusco, which is really sweet and sparkling.

Look for something from Australia as they tend to be very sweet and fruity. (don't go straight for the Yellow Tail - its not the best example). Barossa Valley these days tends to be the home of absolute fruit bomb shiraz.

If by woodsy you mean oaky then look no further than most CA cabs. I rarely find one without a ton of oak in it.

Please keep the questions short.

Why don't you try a nice pino grigo. They are lighter white wines with fruity after notes. You could also go to your local wine store and ask the staff for their suggestions.
I hope you enjoy your glass of wine after the horrid medicine!

There is a wine RELAXE it is a riesling and it is very good . Go to " relaxewines.com " . Check it out .

Beaujolais is my favorite.
