Can you explain Canadian drinking age?!

Question: I know that the drinking age in Canada is 19, but if you are an American older than 19 and younger than 21 can they refuse to serve you? I've heard that when bartenders in CA see an American ID they sometimes say no- because the drinking age is 21 in the US. Is this legitimate?

Legal drinking age is:
18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec

The rest of Canada, it is 19.

NO I DON'T THINK THEY DO THAT. If they do, walk to another bar.

The drinking age in canada is 19. (well, canada, ON thats where I live)

when your in canada, you are aloud to drink when you are 19 and older regardless if you have a U.S. driver's license. Where did you hear that a bartender wouldnt let someone from U.S. drink?

If you're in canada you can drink if your 19,
If you're in U.S. with a canadian driver's license you
can drink at 21

no, it doesn't matter what the drinking age is where you come from, it the country you are currently in and consuming the drinks in.
