Anyone heard of a beer called Yeinglings? It's from Pennsylvania?!

Question: sorry if i spelled it wrong. My husband had to go to Bedford PA for work and I got to tag along. He'd been there once before and had me try one of the local beers. Now let me tell you, I absolutley HATE beer, I think it tastes disgusting and leaves a nasty after taste. But we were having a good time and i wanted to accomodate him so i tried it. I can't believe I did, but I really, really liked it. I ended up having on every time we went out to dinner and even got drunk the last night we were there. When we got back to Illinois we looked for this beer at the liquor stores but apparentley they only sell it in a few select states on the East Coast! Why is this and why torture the rest of the country by not sharing in the amazing wealth of flavor this beer has to offer?

Yuengling's is good stuff... being the oldest brewery in America, I think they have it down to a science by now...

Taken directly from their website:

"Why can't I find Yuengling nationwide?

The Yuengling Brewery is a regional brewer that has manufacturing plants in Pottsville, PA and Tampa, FL. Currently we distribute our products over a ten state area along the eastern seaboard. While there is significant interest for our products nationwide, unfortunately we do not have the manufacturing capabilities to service customers across the United States. As a result, our focus and efforts continues to be on our loyal customers and markets that are logistically feasible to our production facilities.

What are your plans for expansion?

Over the past few years Yuengling's expansion into new markets has been limited. Our future plans for expansion are based upon our production capabilities and our ability to properly introduce and service retailers and customers in any new market. Such decisions are based on a market by market basis. "

Yeungling rocks!!

The oldest brewery in the US. It is good beer!

It is a small company and similar to UTZ (potato chips) and Synder's (pretzels) they choose to only ship as far as their trucks travel. Currently this only includes a few areas of the east coast. Over time that could change. I am from MD and now live in NV....I feel your pain.

Yeungling beer isn't that great.

If you like it so much more than other beers you've had, chances are that you have only had the poor beer that is produced in the millions of gallons by Bud, Coors and Miller.

Try any other good beer and you will like it more. Stella Artois is a nice lager to start.

You can see the old brewery driving on Rt 61 in Pottsville, PA. I can't find it where I live in Upstate NY, but I drink it all the time while at school. Apparently they also have a brewery in Tampa, FL.

It's spelled Yuengling.

Yuengling is fantastic beer. It's practically the only beer around here. :)

I think you've got the answer you needed but where in Illinois are you? Right over the border of Indiana in Munster is Three Floyd's Brewery. They make a beer called Alpha King, rated a 100 by ratebeer.com and has won award after award. If you liked Yingling or whatever it's called, you should like Alpha King.

Yeungling is good, next time for a treat try the Black and Tan, but for a real treat get it on tap (draft), they also have a Porters that is real good.
