How many 2 liter bottles will I need to buy for a party of 65 people?

This is a depends question....it depends on how many will be drinking the soda, it depends on what kind of soda and if it is liked, it depends on the size of glasses, it depends on the size of your wallet, it depends on what you are serving with the drinks and if it is spicey and it depends on how long the party is.
Two to three people can drink from one bottle but people have been known to drink an entire bottle. To cut down on the cost you might request people to bring a 2 liter with them. Most people forget or do not bring the drinks. That way you can buy some as well and have plenty to drink. You can either send leftover bottles home with people or keep them yourself for your soon to be next gathering.

Forget the 2 litre bottles - bye a couple of kegs. Think about it, only 2 empty kegs to dispose of the next day instead of 3 - 4 dozen empty bottles
If it were me, I'd buy 65 or at least 45, but I always over buy.
Especially if it's a hot day, and if they're going to be there a while.
