Most any Cab from Alexander Valley is great; usually $20+. The quality of wine shouldn't be valued by how much it is sold for.

Dr. Konstatin Frank 2005 $29.99 NY State wine , its one of the only reds that i like more of a riesling gal. but i hope you give it a try and like it cheers =)
