Alleric to alcohol?!

Question:

Alleric to alcohol?

If you get a runny nose/stuffy nose and sneeze a lot when you drink alchol, does that mean you're alergic to it?

Answers:
is it distilled spirits or beer or wine? booze is a drug, and a yeast product, it can conain (in the case of beer and wine) allergens, nuetral spirts should not contain any allergens. you cannot be allergic to the chemichal compounds we know as alcohol, only allergens like yeast, tannins, fruit compounds, flavorings etc.

I think you mean alergic and it can happen..

could be.

Probably...there are some things in it that people react poorly too...like fermented wheat sometimes or something.

My friend used to have a reaction whenever she drank beer and it was that her lips would go numb, her Doctor told her she was allergic to alcohol, so I know it is possible.

I have a friend who is allergic to beer, and his reaction is severe....throat swells up and breaks out in hives. It's not necessarily the alcohol you're allergic to, it's the ingredients.

You can be allergic to alcohol itself or some of the ingredients it's made of. Most people with allergies to alcohol are allergic to the ingredients. Here are some helpful links
