Can you get a bartenders license online?!

Question: I'm not sure what state you live in, but i'm in pennsylvania and i don't have a bartenders license or a servers permit - actually, they're pretty much unheard of. Some people choose to go to a "Bartenders school" so they learn how to pour, make drinks & learn drinks. I suppose the outcome would be some type of certification, and if anything it'll deff skill you on your job of choice & maybe make it easier finding a job. Personally, I think it's easier just to start at a simple, local bar and get your training there - you don't have to pay for any schooling plus you're making money. Working at the corner bar also assures that you won't be making 200 exotic drink concoctions a night - the majority of local folks will be beer drinkers & you can learn as you go on specialty drinks. That's how I started off - the owner of the bar trained me, there was a lot i knew but i still had much to learn. we worked together on the weekends when we needed 2 bartenders & i learned all the crazier drinks as they came about / got ordered. After you get some time in & expierence, then you can go out job hunting for a better job if you so desire. Myself, I stayed where I started and love it!!! And as someone else mentioned, a lot of places do promote within for bartenders. An employee will work as a server for a few years, and i suppose if they're doing a good job, they offer them a bar spot, perks usually being that they'll make a lot more money behind the bar. Best of luck & have fun!

no you have to have 3 ponitnts identification to notify you are 18+ you only need to be 18 to srever

You have to go to the police station or court house in the county or city that you will be working in. Not all areas require them. Just ask the manager at the place of business what to do. There is a "Tips" certification for responsible pouring but that is not the same as a license.

No. You have to take an alcohol servers class which can be anywhere from 3-5 hours. After the class you take a test and if you past the test you get a servers license. All states require anyone over 21 working in grocery stores, restaurants, bars to carry a servers permit. If you get one online it is illegal

Honestly, most buisnesses promote from within. I've had a lot of friends who have done the 1-800 bartend school and have had a hard time getting a job because of this fact. They've also told me that if they did get a job they had to be retrained by their employer. Bartenders are responsible for a lot of things, which is why restaraunts/bars promote employees they know they can trust. I've also been working in a restaraunt for over 5 years and have bartended for two and I've never had to obtain a license. Nor have I ever heard of anyone having to. Good luck
