Home distillers question on difference between fruit mash and flavor added?!
Answers: What is the difference between say, an alcohol produced by a mash consisting of bananas or a tasteless alcohol with banana flavoring added during distillation? Is one of them a schnapps?
Depending on how efficient your still is there will be very little flavor from the base wash carried over into the final product. If I wanted banana flavored shine I would add the flavor after I was finished and had cut it back to the desired proof.
