I think a lot of people like to drink to feel relaxed or just have a good time...I agree it taste nasty but I still like to have a drink now and then
Taste is all dependent on what your drinking, some beers taste great, others not so much. yuk!
too many people drink to get drunk. they like the buzz so they drink some, then some more, and next thing your an alcoholic. The addiction (for some) is what keeps people drinking.

I feel more relaxed when I have a few. I can go to a bar with my friends, drink water, have a good time, but be the one sitting back watching and laughing. If I go and have a few, Im the one makin a fool outta myself, takin pictures every 2 minutes, and dancin like a maniac. Either way I have fun, but drinking tends to make it a little more interesting.
i tend to drink when i am bored, or golfing, or pretty much whenever i am not working. i used to be able to drink whilst working, and that was sweet. it's definitely an acquired taste. i like to get hammered and act a fool, although it gets a bit expensive at times. it'll grow on you, son. just keep at it, and someday, you too can experience the finer points of alcoholism.
