Bass Shandy?!

Question:

Bass Shandy?

Do you remember this when you were a kid?

You remember when you used to drink it because it had beer in it? Even tho it tasted like weak p.ss, it confirmed the alcohol content by having 'beer' down on the ingredient list. And your mum used to say to you "don't get drunk now" (how funny it must be for a parent sometimes)... And you used to say "I won't mum... don't worry". Then neck the whole can in one hoping you would.

So here you are, spent all your 20p on one can of Shandy Bass, it was 'orrible and it's all gone, but you're still holding onto the can like you're on a TV advert... making sure everyone can see the logo and knows that you've just drunk BEER.

Sometimes I even used to pretend I was p.ssed on it. That must have made my mum laugh so much.

Funny what pleasure a nine year old can get out of a can of Shandy Bass.

Anyone else? Or just me?

Okaaaaaayyyyyyy, you make me feel old and im 21!!!

You can still buy bass shandy, and I still drink the stuff! Yum yum yum, delicioso

Definitely not just you. That brought back so many memories for me. It had a lasting effect on me because when I'm in the pub I usually drink Fosters shandy.

I just used to wait until my parents were zonked on New Years Day morning and have a drop of the full power stuff.

I was worse. I used to "smoke" those chocolate cigarettes.

OMG, you just brought back such good memories!!! my Mum used to by my brother and I the Top Deck lager and cider ''shandies'' we were allowed to have them on the weekends if we were good, along with a 50p lucky bag from the corner shop. We were also allowed a babysham or an advocaat at Xmas, we felt so grown up!!!

Oh boy do I agree with you. I used to feel that I had so much cred. I must admit to buying a can now and again in memory of those wonderful youthful days.

Still remember it well, and still buy them from time to time, great cold on hot summer days . But I prefer magners these days.
