Is Canadian beer really better than US' beer?!

Question:

Is Canadian beer really better than US' beer?

Answers:
As one who lives in both countries: Canadian basic lagers (Molson, LaBatt and Sleeman) are better than American (Bud, Coors, Miller), but Americans have a far vaster selection of wonderful microbeers and ales, at much lower prices.

It's all a matter of taste. My inlaws are from Vietnam and over there, you are cool if you drink Budweiser.

Better? Better how? If you mean "which one do you like better," that's simply a matter of taste. Some people will like one and others another. Unless you're measuring something tangible and quantifiable -- like which is aged longer, which uses more natural ingredients, which uses a certain ratio of ingredients, and such -- you really can't say one's better than another, as it becomes completely subjective. One could ask which one we like better, or who prefers which, but 'better' in this case is irrelevant because there are no firm criteria by which to measure.

That would have to be defined by the drinker.

Yes, I am Canadian. But like they said, it is a matter of taste. I was down there and bought a big bottle of Budwieser and it tasted like water, compared to the Budwieser here in Canada, lol.

I like smooth beers, like miller genuine draft, and some dark beers, like alaskan amber, fat tire, killians red, and i saw a show on tv where the women taste tested beers and one was a canadian beer they liked. So i went to got it, and its very comparable to MGD, affordable too, Molsen Golden.... Very Smooth tasting No bitter after taste in yer mouth.

I think it is. Except for Sam Adams.

I'm not a beer drinker but I am Canadian and ocassionally a beer is just the perfect alcoholic beverage :o) Like when you've finished some yard work on a hot summer day. Or watching hockey playoffs (sniff, sniff, no more Canucks). Or is absolutely necessary as a chaser for tequilla or aquivit shots. Canadian beer, in general, is milder than most European beers - less alcohol but not necessarily smoother. However, U.S. beer, in general, tastes very watered down. It also contains less alcohol. My personal preference is for a pale ale, like Sleemans. But I also like Turborg, Carlsborg (both Danish beers), Carona, and the Canadian standards like Kokanee or Molsen's Canadian.

Sorry lad′s but for me the best beer is from Belgium and we
have more than 700 different beers! And Interbrew (Belgium)
owns the most breweries in the world (Canadian′s to)

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!

In general, yes, I think Canadian beer is better, but it is a matter of taste. There are definitely some good American beers out there (Miller Genuine Draft and Old Milwaukee are my favourites). Given the choice though, I will always stick to good ol' Molson Canadian.
