Question:

How alcohol abuse is defined?

Answers:
Definition of Alcohol abuse

Alcohol abuse: Use of alcoholic beverages to excess, either on individual occasions ("binge drinking") or as a regular practice. For some individuals-children or pregnant women, for example-almost any amount of alcohol use may be legally considered "alcohol abuse," depending on local laws. Heavy alcohol abuse can cause physical damage and death.

if its drinking to get drunk then its abuse. if its drinking every now and then with Friends to have a good time then its OK

i would say if using it affects ones life in a negative way.

24/7 days a weak!

It's not necessarily the frequency or the amount, but the intention with which it is consumed. Is the intention to "escape" or "numb out"? It can also be when one cannot just have 1-2 drinks and stop. If one can't stop drinking once they start, there is a problem with alcohol buse there. Also, if one's life is be controlled by or negatively affected by alcohol consumption, then that is alcohol abuse. You don't have to be falling down drunk every day to be abusing alcohol.

I thought I was abusing alcohol.....i would drink because i thought it enhanced my personality...i stopped drinking for a month...i found out it realyy does improve my personality! I am a much nicer person now
