Have you ever tried drnking Absinthe? how was your experience.?!

Question: I've tried about 30 different brands of absinthe from around the world. Absinthe will not make you hallucinate and it is not a drug.

It does have a different effect than other alcohols. Some describe it as a more "clear-headed drunkenness." I've found that I don't feel drunk when I'm drinking absinthe, but I still have a headache the next day.

If you're really interested in the drink, I recommend checking out the wormwood society (www.wormwoodsociety.org) for more information about absinthe.

You will do a lot of stupid stuff and remember very little if anything!!!!!!!
Been there done that bought the t-shirt

I drank real Absinthe in Prague. It was really fun! I didn't hallucinate exactly, but it was more complex than being drunk. Kind of like a combination of being a little drunk and stoned at the same time. Don't listen to these prudes!!! I doubt you'd do anything out of character. I can't wait for this answer to be reported or given lots of thumbs down! I would ABSOLUTELY do it again!!!!

It's a ritual here for Week-end brunches. Old wives tails of hallucinations. No Van Goph moves here...it's actually a pleasant drink.

That it is still illegal in the US is utterly ridiculous. Absinthe actually has fairly low levels of thujone in it, yet is prohibited. Common herbs like sage, or even worse oil of sage can contain 50% thujone and be perfectly legal.

Its a political thing... gotta be.

(oh, and they sell a thujone-free version of it here, Absente)

Original absinthe cannot be had at any price or in any place.
No matter what they tell you.
