How long before it's safe to drive?!

Question: Last night I had about 9 drinks between 8 pm and 2 am, 2 champagnes, 7 mixed spiced rum and diets. I ate a big dinner after that at Denny's, then cabbed it home and slept.

I want to go xmas shopping this afternoon, but I do NOT want to drive with any alcohol left in my body. I feel a bit woozy but I don't know if it's the dehydration and the Denny's food or alcohol leftovers.

I'm 5'11" and around 150 lbs. How long would it take for everything to 'clear out'?

Calculate it like this...for every ounce of alcohol you take in, it will take the body 1 hour to process. Thats why you can leave the restaurant/bar and your BAL will be higher in 30 minutes than when you left the restaurant. The body will not metabolize any faster than that ever. Also if its been about 14 or so hours since you stopped drinking and you ate and slept, chances are the BA level in your system should be on the low side, but still, I would watch yourself if your going to drive, you may still be affected by the alcohol from the night before, if not in your blood stream, then by awareness and brain functioning and being able to focus.
Good Luck!

You ought to be fine to drive you've slept and ate enough to dissolve the alcohol but im telling you screaming kids, tons of people, and especially Christmas music isn't gonna help your hangover any!! lol

You shouldn’t drive after even 2 drinks (especially if the roads are snowy and icy).Have a sober friend drive for you or take a cab, if you want to be in the safe side.

About 1 hour or so. Per can of beer.

You should be okay. Drive around the block a couple times, and see how you feel.

YOUR FINE, YOU HAD 9 DRINKS IN 6 HOURS. THATS NOT THAT BAD. TAKE SOME ADVIL EAT SOMEWHERE AND GO OUT AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN.
