What are some steps to take to ensure a win at a local beerfest?
a friend is holding a beerfest (like the one in the movie with many different events) at his house.. what can I do to win? i heard eat protein and drink water before.. anything else?

Beer is a tricky thing for most taste. I have been to many beer festivals and competitions. I have judged in one. instead of going into great detail, the one competition I judged one constant between most of us judges was how much we enjoyed the wheat beers as long as the mixture was not too cloudy. I really gave high marks to a amber that had a very light taste on the pallet and was low in the hops. I hate hoppy beers. Stay in the ambers and keep control of the hops and you should do well.....good luck
