Prosecco is an Italian sparkling white wine which makes a fine substitute for champagne - and much cheaper!

bev mo i herd they had good wine dont no the price hope i helped

I would take my 20 bucks to my local wine store and ask the cute wine guy for some advice.
Cute wine guys love giving advice.

You can get a bottle of St. Michelle that is very good for the price. Based on where you get it you can get it for anywhere from 6.99 to 12.99. Shop around. Beverages and More right now has it for 6.99 usually they carry it for 9.99. They have 5 various types. Blanc de Blanc, Blanc de Noir, Extra Dry, Frizzante, and Brut.

I usually buy Ballatore Gran Spumante. It is @ $10.00 a bottle and tastes as good if not better than the more expensive stuff.

First question -- are you looking for Champagne or just sparkling wine? Champagnes are only from a certain region in France and tend to be more expensive. There are any number of good, inexpensive sparkling wines out there. My fallback is usually Freixienet Cava Extra Dry. You can find a bottle of that for $8-10.

There are any number of options, based on how sweet or dry you want your bubbly or what you're serving it with. I did a writeup on a number of sparkling wines a year ago. The link is below. Hope that helps!

I second Chateau Ste. Michelle. Don't let the price fool you -- it's much better than most American sparkling wines which cost three times as much. Another choice is Barefoot Bubbly.

I'd definitely not suggest a prosecco, spumante, or asti. While these are sparkling wines like champagnes, the Italian sparkling wines taste completely different -- they have much less of the flavor complexity and and much sweeter. If you wanted something like that you might as well buy some Andre fruit-flavored monstrosity.

I would suggest Martini and Rossi Asti Spumanti. It is the same as Champagne but can't be called one because the grapes were grown in Italy not in the Champagne region of France. It costs more than Ballatore but it is worth it. If you are on a budget it's better to get the best Italian 'Spumonti' than the worse 'Champagne'.

bud wiser is the champagne of beer!!merry Christmas and do not drive drunk!!!be safe

hey I like J. Roget, here you can get 3 bottles for $10.00, it taste great, and you have a choice of 3, brut, spumonte and extra dry.
