You can't go wrong with a nice Chianti!

go with the red wine.

Definately red wine. Red wine tastes much better than white with an italian meal =]

If your a wine officianoto then you would probably want and more spicy red wine to cut the acid in the sauce. But really not too many people know tons about wine. You should just drink what you like. Because unless you have a trained palate then your not going to really notice how well the wine goes with the meal.

I like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot for red, though Chianti would also be good. And maybe these links will help you with a white. Best of luck.

You need a red. I recommend something like a Brunello or a big rioja as examples. Many of the '05s a still a little green. Something like a '99 Baron do Ona rioja would be excellent, a '97 even better.

A beefy dish requires a hearty red- chanti would be perfect.

For example, try a Della Cresta Chianti, or ask the wine merchant...

Valpolicella.

I recommend one of these reds as they go well with the tomato sauce used in Italian cooking.

Chianti
Zinfandel
Sangiovese

.

merlot, especially one by yellow tail
