No, she does not have a drinking problem. It may seem like that because she's drinking beer instead of a sophisticated drink like wine, but no. The term 'binge drinking' means that a person ingests alcohol in a rate that is quicker than the rate the liver can break down the alcohol, so plainly, more than one alcoholic beverage per hour. If she drinks 2-3 beers a night, starting at eight, it's most likely to unwind, very much like any other might have 2-3 glasses of wine, or some spiked coffee.

Also, to refute Lauren B's theory on how she has a problem, many people have a different unwinding ritual at some point in time during the day. For some it's a warm bath and a cup of tea, for others it's yoga or meditation. Drinking the few beers may be her unwinding ritual, and just because she does it alone doesn't mean she has a problem. Are you going to tell me that people who do yoga by themselves in their home have a problem? If she's getting plastered, to the point where she passes out by herself, THEN she has a problem. It has been proven that a few drinks are actually good for you, for example a glass of wine a day helps the bloodflow.

No, I don't think you have a drinking problem

no

No, I dont think so

If she drinks for the sake of drinking, yes. If she goes to a club every night, then no. If she really can stop, then no.

dont think so. if she cant handle NOT having drinks then there might be a problem

3 beers for a woman is like 6 beers for a man. Fact. Every night? Yes, she has a drinking problem.

She has a problem if she can't function normally without drinking the beers nightly.

If she feels compelled to drink, or that she can't stop even if she wants to, yes.

If there is no pull or irresistible desire to drink, then she should be fine.

yeah id say so... 115 lbs is a bit light for a 28 year old... but i guess it depends on your height. 1 beer a night.. maybe but 2 or 3 is too much!

I think drinking would only become a problem if she becomes mean and nasty to other people while drinking. Like if her personality changes for the worse. Or if she forgets what she/did said during her drinking.

since she is so small and a woman (our bodies absorb more alcohol than a mans) 3 beers is like having a six pack. one a day is good for you (wine is better), going over that she is risking developing liver disease. it sounds like a ritual to wind down, rather than to get drunk. try to get her to limit herself to one a day for her health. i don't think she'll be needing AA meeting just yet

I′m a man. For me is perfect drink 2 or 3 beers per night. Being a woman, may be reduce a little.

if a woman has 2 or 3 cigarettes a day, does she have a smoking problem? yes!!! same with the alcohol!~

I think if this does not get in the way eventually of her every day tactics, then I dont see anything wrong with this one bit!! This person is just a "Social drinker" is all. Geez my sister & her husband will go through a fifth of Vodka every night, and still function with their jobs, and their errands, and company cleaning you name it, they are considered in my book as "Functional Drunks"!! Period. I never could drink and take care of bizz!! Booze, and Business didn't mix in my chapter of drinking in the old days!! So, now I'm just a Happy Non-Drinker! Good for anyone who can do both!! Smile!!!

There are a lot of people out there that are living a life of addiction, and are still able to get up in the morning and function/perform their duties. They have an incentive which is without the money, they can't buy the alcohol. Every night would set off alarms because it could very well be that she is using it as self medication to help her sleep, or to d-stress after work. There are many many other healthier options to help with either of those things. It is possible that if she went a few days/nights without having any alcohol that you would see her become more irritable, which would definitely show she has a problem.

A person is not a social drinker when they drink alone. A person can be trying to manage their drinking problem or addiction through the day, by knowing at the end of the work day, there is a drink waiting for them when they get home. It is definitely a red flag. However, at some point, when they need to have more to get the same effect, that is when their lives get out of control.

It doesn't mean she is an alcoholic, it MAY mean she has a problem.

No. If this was considered a drinking problem, then all men in their 20's are alcoholics!

No. As long she's not getting trashed every night. Actually, when my 4 yr old goes to bed I like to unwind with a couple of beers or a little wine. I'm 34 and weigh about 110lbs.

Phone number please?

yes, i think so
