Can you use vodka to make daiquiries?!

Question:

Can you use vodka to make daiquiries?

I have a bottle of vodka and I was wondering if I could substitute it for rum in making a strawberry daiquiri when using the premade mix from the grocery store? Would it affect the taste any at all?

Answers:
You can use vodka, but the flavor just won't be the same. It'll be like a virgin, only with "buzz ability".

i culd care less

Yes, it would definitely affect the taste. Daquiris are rum, margaritas are the same, but with tequila. I would go get some red bull and put the vodka in that.

you can do it. it will taste a little different, but it will still tase good. probably better

Margarita ville

You can put vodka in it and it would probably be tasty, but it would no longer be called a daiquiri. I personally prefer vodka over rum in anything.

it's a drink and has a name, I dont remember it, but a vodka pina colada is called a chi chi

A daiquiri made with vodka would be a ... gimlet! I suppose a strawberry gimlet would be as decent substitution for a gimlet as a strawberry margarita is for a "real" margarita : ).

it doesnt taste that much different.. i wiould go for it!
