Who has good Absinthe?!

Question: Has anybody bought any? That makes one more potient than the other? I've always wanted to try it. What does it do to you? I'm 29 so i'm not some minor looking for trouble. I know you can't go to the store and buy it, but you can buy it online. And how do you prepair it?

www.absintheonline.com sells the best absinthes available (I recommend Duplais and the Jades.) You'll pay more for shipping than your absinthe sometimes, so it'll be worth your while to get more than one bottle.

Kubler is not a bad absinthe, but don't buy it from that site. It was recently made available in the USA legally, as was Lucid (developed by Ted Breaux, who created the Jades.) both are for sale here: http://www.drinkupny.com/category_s/86.h... Shipping on that site is free.

Preparation? Pour a shot into a glass. Then (and this part is optional) balance a slotted "absinthe spoon" over the rim of the glass (you can use a fork if you don't have one) with a sugar cube on the spoon or fork. Either way, dribble cold water over the sugar cube and into the glass. Absinthe will then "louche" (turn cloudy.) Most folks like a ratio of about 1:4 absinthe to water.

I also second www.wormwoodsociety.org--loads of information and absinthe reviews. If you click on "absinthe preparation" at the top there is a page that will show you in pictures.

I understand that Jade absinthe has an old recipe from before absinthe was outlawed. Try that one. It's easy to order on-line now.http://www.wormwoodsociety.org/index.php...

I have bought absinthe several times this year. Go to eabsinthe.com. They have a great selection and the best I have tried is the French one called La Fee. It is 68% alcohol so it has to be diluted with water and you have to add sugar to make it taste right.
Good times!!!

I've bought Absinthe from http://www.alcopopsonline.co.uk/absinthe... they don't have a huge selection but some of the best. If your not in the UK they do have some that ship Worldwide.

buy the on line kind (absinthe) the kind they sell here in the liquor stores is absinte and its not the same!
