You didn't really give enough information. Determining alcoholism isn't based on how much you drink or even how often. The main signs of alcoholism are that you have an uncontrollable desire to drink. It could be daily or it could be only during stressful situations. Here are a few warning signs, you have to decide if you fit the description.

1. Uncontrollable need to drink.

2. Feeling you can make it through something (your day, the weekend, etc.) without drinking.

3. Drinking has caused problems in your personal life, or at work at some point.

4. It is a financial burden.

well, no one else can judge whether or not you are an alcoholic, but that is quite a bit to drink on a continuous daily basis...

i don't think so because 4-5 isn't gonna make your drunk..tipsy or give you a night cap yes but not drunk
and im sure if you had to you could go w/ out an alcoholic gets pissed when they can't drink

i drink about 2 drinks a night not every night but the nights im off or week ends after work but im really drunk maybe once every 2 weeks i don't think im an alcohlic...if so maybe some one should tell me lol

no, unless it interferes with your normal life activities

for example: you get caught drunk driving (I did that...)

if you drink that much everyday you most likely are

Well do you feel like you are shaking on the inside? Do you get dry heaves when you know you are going to drink? Do you think about drinking during your day? Can you stop at only one? Are you the "life" of the party when you are around your friends and you all are drinking?
I am not a Doctor, nor can I diagnose a condition. But I had a brother who could answer yes to all those questions and he was an alcoholic.
Remember though even if you say no to all of them it does not mean you are not. Alcohol effects people in different ways.

4-5 drinks per day, every day, is a lot. What happens if you don't drink for a day or two? Can you?

If those 4-5 drinks per day are in a 16 ounce shot glass, then you may have a problem.

Stop drinking for several days.
If you still think about the cocktails, if you crave them, if your home-life and/or work is affected (i.e., calling in sick or being antisocial) then yes you are an alcoholic.

If you just carry on your life with no problem, then probably not, but you're not doing your health any favors.

Sounds like a lot to me, not neccesarily saying you're an alcoholic but a "non-alcoholic" doesn't drink every night. Most people only drink on weekends or when they're off. If you're drinking by yourself then I would for sure say so.

Pfffffff Who doesn't????
